Antonio Abril, Valencia – Spain – 1959

Hello, world! Antonio Abril is my stamp, a tribute to my mother. I was born in the land of light and colour: Valencia, Spain. That's where my studio - or rather, my workshop - is located, the place where the multifaceted artist I have always felt I was, for as long as I can remember. I consider myself a tireless explorer of light, colour, shapes, concept, textures, gesture, expression, attitude... and of everything that I have always longed to capture in my work. I have worked with dedication in the most diverse means of artistic expression. Today, painting is my stopping place and my way of life. By imperious mandate of my soul -enigmatic and persistent- that guides the brush between my fingers in a mysterious way. That soul that, with restless eagerness, drives me to express myself everywhere, often without even asking permission from my own intimacy. I hope that my works, lived and suffered, can transmit sensations capable of transforming, even if only slightly, the sensibility of the one who contemplates them.
